The Great Australian Adventure

Im not suppose to be on the internet long so Im going to post as much as I can now and Im not sure when I'll be on next. I went to the airport with my parents and grandparents on friday and we got there around 5:30pm I think. After saying our goodbyes, I entered the terminal place (this is my first time flying so I dont know any airport terminology) and decided I should get something to eat because I hadnt eatten anything all day. I went to McDonalds. I hate McDonalds. But then I heard my plane get called so I went to my gate and boarded the plane. I didnt think there was going to be anyone sitting next to me on the plane, but I ended up having a really interesting lady sit next to me. Her name was Barbara and she lives in Melbourne Australia. She spends a month in the US every year to visit with her parents. I explained to her my situation with YWAM and how I didnt really have any clue what Id be doing. She then went and told me the story of her life. Which lasted the majority of the flight. Right after she graduated college she got a job in politics and was working in Washington DC (shes originally from the US). She got bored of her job, sold her house, and decided she was going to tour the islands surrounding Australia. She drove to California, met up with one of her friends, they sold her car, and bought plane tickets to New Zealand. I then asked her if she sold her car, how did she get around? She pointed up her thumb indicating she hitchhiked. She was telling me all these stories and then she told me one time she was trying to hitchhike and I guy thought she was flipping him off. So the guy slams on his breaks, backs up to her and starts getting real angry with her. She explained the mix up and they laughed over it. To make a long story short, she ended up marrying this guy. And theyve been married for 23 years. And she has 2 boys, one is 21 and the other is 19. Anyone, she guided me to my next flight when I reached Los Angeles. I was unable to use the bathroom before switching planes because my flight to Los Angeles was running late. And since I was the window seat and had two old people sitting next to me, I had to hold my bladder and was unable to walk around to stretch my legs for the entire flight to Brisbane. I also learned that its impossible to sleep on planes. When I finally reached Brisbane and was able to relieve myself, I made my way to the exit gate. After a little randomness trying to find the people picking me up, I was on my way to the Gold Coast. The people I met so far are really friendly. I have to provide food for myself today but I dont have any Australian money. Im hoping the ATM works. I have a limited time to use the internet right now so Ill fill you guys in on the rest later. I start doing stuff tomorrow (monday at 9AM) prayers are welcome!

2 week warning

So this is my first experience with blogging. Im going to try to use this to update everyone about my experience with YWAM. In two weeks Ill be starting my YWAM DTS in Gold Coast, Australia. Right now all Im doing is prepping for the trip and spending as much time with friends and family as possible. Ill be gone for 6 months total. Ill be spending 3 months in Australia taking discipleship classes and then Ill head off to a different country for 3 months for the outreach phase. God is going to do some pretty amazing things on this trip!
