I realize that Ive been doing an under par job at this whole blog thing. Ill spend the next couple minutes rambling about whatever pops into my head. If you're able to follow this and not get confused, God bless you.
Anyway, its Thursday afternoon, November 4th. We've had some incredible speakers over the past month. Ive had some huge revelations during this time and have had a lot of questions about the bible, God, and myself answered through the speakers during this time. This week our lecture topic is "Missions, poor and needy". Our speaker is from a ywam base in Byron Bay, Australia. Byron Bay is the eastern most point of all Australia and is about 2 hours south of the Gold Coast. Speaking about Byron Bay, the ywam dts thats taking place there will be joining us in Gold Coast next week to share in our lectures. Apparently our speaker next week is really good. His name is Mark Parker. From what Ive heard, Mark likes to get in your face and yell. I dont see how this is enjoyable, but we'll see. This coming weekend is looking like a lot of fun. Im organizing a trip to Brisbane so that myself and others on my dts team can go to a Hillsong church based there on Sunday. We'll then most likely spend the rest of the day in Brisbane. On Monday a lot of us will be going to Fingel (spelling?) beach for the day. Supposedly its a really nice beach. We were suppose to go there last weekend but bad weather prevented us from going. Pray for good weather this weekend. Im hearing stories about Fall weather back at home and I get a little jealous every now and then. Its starting to get rather warm here in Australia. What makes it even weirder, is that christmas stuff is being set up everywhere. Its in the 80's and theres christmas stuff everywhere. what the heck. its gonna be a weird christmas. In 2 weeks ill be a chaplain for schoolies. Schoolies is Australia's version of senior week where all graduating seniors come to Surfers Paradise and get drunk and high for a week. Ill be taking care of these kids and hopefully setting some of them on correct pathways. I found out that my outreach trip will be to Papua New Guinea. I leave for PNG in mid January and will be there for 6 weeks. Ive heard some awesome stories from people that have gone to PNG before and Im really looking forward to it. After those 6 weeks, Ill be returning to Australia and spending 2 weeks in the outback working with aboriginals. I asked my dts leader how much he figured my outreach costs would total to (he had already done a similar trip). He said somewhere around 2,800. As of now, I have a little over 1,000 saved up. Leaving me needing to raise around 1,800. Thank you all so much for the prayer and support youve given me. Its been an eye opening experience for me and the other students and we're learning so much about God and ourselves. Ill try to update this thing more often.
